I Am a Llama!

Back from Pinecove

I got back from Pinecove(a Chritian Camp in Tyler, Tx) and it was a blast. I went with my friend Travis from Mexico. We were able to stay in the same cabin. Our cabin's counselor's name was Colby Hodges, but we all called him by his camp name, which was Merman.

There were all sorts of fun activities to do, such as paintball, tubing, a ropes course, and my favorite, a pool with a blob. While I was there, I blobbed a eight feet up in the air! It was great. They also made a video that was like a . It was hilarious! Some of the contestants were a surfer dude, a musician, and a mime! The Pinecove site has a picture of me playing ping pong! If you go to the pinecove site; go to picture gallery, then select shores, week 1, and monday, I'm the guy with the Boston Red Sox hat on. It's pretty neat!

The talks were really good also. The main theme of the camp was to get out of the comfortable Christian life and to become a dedicated follower of Jesus. The first day, the speaker told about his recent vacation to Hawaii. When he arrived there, he suprised to see most of the poeple stay around the pool which was just 50 yards from the ocean! Why stay in the pool when you can experience the vastness and beauty of the ocean? In this analogy, the pool was the comfortable Christian life, while the ocean was a dedicated life. I also really enjoyed the worship there. On the first night, I had to adjust to the loud speakers. On the last night there, we had a woship service from about 9 o'clock to 1:30 in the morning! It was so exuberating and uplifting!

Next year, Pinecove will be offering the opportunity to go two weeks in a row; it would be awsome if I would be able to do it next summer!
