Azzam killed

The number 2 Al Quaeda leader in Iraq has been killed, dealing a blow to the insurgency in Iraq. It has been a while since something good has happened in Iraq, not to mention the polls showing the nation's satisfaction with President Bush is the lowest it's every been; so this a major lift of spirits for Americans. With all of the disastrous hurricanes, Gas prices, and the War, there arn't a lot of good things to happening in the good 'ol USA right now. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a string of hopeful events.

Podcasts

I have been listening to TWIT for the past three weeks, and I have really been enjoying it. TWIT(This Week in Tech) is a podcast on Technology hosted by leaders in the tech news industry such as Leo Laporte, Kevin Rose, and John Dvorak. This enjoyable show is put out every week and can downloaded onto your computer from itunes and put on your ipod or computer of mp3 player. Listening to it makes me want to create my own podcast, unlikely though until I start to have more success with my blog.

Football's depressing week

Last Monday, the Cowboy's defense allowed two touchdowns in the final four minutes to blow a great defensive game. During halftime, Troy Aikman, Emmith Smith, and Michael Irvin were inducted into the ring of honor. Not much went right for me. I lost my first game in my fantasy league; Clinton Portis played horribly, and Payton Manning better get out of this slump. If you haven’t heard about my game on Friday night, we played great against a really big(in size) team. They're entire offense was giving to their 245 lbs. guy and have him run up the middle. He had a wicked stiff arm and run for all of the team's touchdown's. We were winning by twenty points at the half, but four of us(there's only eight on our team) got injured, including me towards the end, so we had to forfeit the game, winning by eleven points going into the fourth quarter. That was a real bummer. For almost the entire third quarter, we had to play with only five guys, and they only outscored us by seven points. That was a big confidence booster for our next game this Friday.

Quote of the Week

So if I stand let me stand on the promise
That you will pull me through
And if I can't, let me fall on the grace
That first brought me to You
And if I sing, let me sing for the joy
That was born to me in these songs
And if I weep, let me weep as a man
Who is homesick for his home

"Under God" in Pledge of Allegience Ruled Unconstitutional

Yesterday, a California judge ruled that including the words “Under God” while reciting the pledge of allegiance in schools. The case will now begin a long process to be decided by the Supreme Court. The attack on our nation’s heritage is being staged by Michael Newdow, an atheist who states that pledging allegiance to God is unconstitutional.

I can understand why atheists and those don’t believe in God may have a problem with reciting the current pledge of allegiance, but they need to understand our nation was founded on biblical principles and the fact that God is supreme. It would make more sense if if these people have that much of a problem with it, then they should just sit in their seats while the rest of the class recites it. With the probable induction of John Roberts in the Supreme Court, conservatives can hope to see brighter days and a renewal of spiritual on which our nation was founded.

New Microsoft Vista News

Microsoft has announced that they will release their new operating system, Windows Vista, in three different versions. There will four different version of the home edition: Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, Windows Vista Home Basic Edition and Windows Vista Starter Edition. Microsoft will also release Vista in three different business versions: Windows Vista Enterprise Edition, Windows Vista Professional Edition and Windows Vista Small Business Edition.
They have also announced that to run the 32-bit versions, it is suggested that your computer have at least 512 MB of RAM; and to run the 64-bit version, hailed as the next generation of computing, you will need at least 2GB of Ram!
Windows Vista will not sell well initially because of the RAM it demands. Most advanced computer users use Apple or Linux; while, for the most part, people that run Windows are unfamiliar with much of the advanced elements of computers. Windows wants 2GB of Ram to run their 64-Bit version, and while that will be no problem for avid computer users, it may be too expensive for people that don’t use their computer as much. We will probably find that many people will still be using Windows XP after Vista comes out simply because they can’t afford all of the RAM. Microsoft has, for a time, been losing it’s vast edge in the OS market to companies like Apple, and we will only see more people flock to Apple and Macintosh from Microsoft because Macs will cost just as much as PCs. No longer will two gigabytes of memory be a powerhouse, it will be the standard. Obviously, we will need to more and more Ram to function our computers as time goes on, but Microsoft is ushering in that age too quickly.

New Look!

How do like the new look? I may keep it or I may not, depending on how everyone reacts to it. Comment if you like it.

Oh yeah, that C I got in my Pre-Cal test, I actually got an 88. My teacher counted three problems wrong that were really right. I can now breath a sigh of relief.

daily curious question of the day: What makes llamas so cool?

Try to guess what's happening in this picture.  Posted by Picasa

Busy!

I've been really busy with school, football, and volunteer work. I have like a gazillion( is that a word?) things to do for school right now. I got a C on my pre-calculus test! Yikes. That will bring my grade down.

My football team's first was yesterday against the state champions. I'm not even going to tell you what the score was. We didn't even play the second half because they were beating us so bad.

I've been helping at the Cain Center(YMCA) with all of the refugees from Louisiana and Mississippi. It was so amazing working with all of them. They've lost everything but they're still happy. It was awsome.
